A handmade knife sheath for the Morakniv Companion, cut from 9–10 oz full-grain vegetable-tanned leather and hand saddle-stitched over a full-length welt with cream thread. The holster-style loop takes belts up to 40 mm. Sheath only. The knife is not included.

Fit on the Mora Companion

It is patterned on the Morakniv Companion. Fit on the Companion HD, Garberg, Kansbol and the other Mora models is unverified. Email me first if that is what you carry. For the belt, measure the strap rather than your waist: the loop takes belts up to 40 mm wide. I have not tested anything wider.

How I make each Morakniv Companion sheath

I cut the leather, set a welt down the full length of the seam, the strip that keeps the blade off the thread, then saddle-stitch it closed by hand with two needles and cream thread.

Caring for a vegetable-tanned leather sheath

Vegetable-tanned leather softens with use while holding the shape it is given, and darkens with light and use; that patina is the point, not a fault. If it gets wet, let it dry on its own and do not scratch or stretch it while damp. A neutral conditioner once a year is all it needs.

Warranty and shipping

Every piece carries a lifetime warranty: if something I made fails structurally, I repair or replace it free for as long as you own it. Photographs and proof of purchase are required, and you cover postage to me while I cover the return. Refunds are not offered for change of mind, for a piece that has been used, or for ordinary ageing; the narrow cases where a refund does apply are set out in the returns and warranty terms.

Which knives does it fit?

The Morakniv Companion. I have not verified any other Mora model against this pattern.

Is it ready to ship?

Whatever the stock count shows is finished and ready to go. If it reads out of stock, email me before ordering. I do not publish a making time.

Is it waterproof?

No. Leather is not waterproof, and water resistance on this sheath is untested.

Will the fit change with use?

The leather softens with use and settles to the shape of what it holds. I have not measured a break-in period, so I will not quote one.

What if it arrives damaged?

Email photographs of the piece and of the packaging, plus your order number, to [email protected]. Within 30 days for transit damage, any time for structural failure. Procedure in the returns and warranty terms.
